Thomson Learning's Inventory-in-Place
Program
Thomson Learning is once again offering their
Inventory-in-Place Program for college stores. All college stores
in good credit standing are eligible to participate in Inventory-in-Place
(IIP) this fall. IIP is an excellent tool to reduce a store's return
percentage, thereby maintaining or improving their Service Plus
program status. It is also a good way to reduce freight costs and
avoid price increases.
Remember that stores' sales history for the 2005 calendar year will
be used in the calculation of your next Service Plus status on January
1, 2006.
Here's how it works:
After fall rush, identify the unsold stock that will be used again
the next term and, instead of returning these books to us, simply
supply us with a list that includes quantities, authors, titles,
editions, ISBNs and corresponding invoice numbers. Send this list
along with your October payment less the value of the books you
will be holding and less the value of any books you are planning
to return.
We will send you approval in writing for all books that can be held.
For the approved titles, payment for the total net value of these
books will be due February 1st.

program.
